Tripl is a Dutch graffiti writer active since 2001, with train graffiti at the centre of his practice. Alongside traditional lettering, his work has developed towards conceptual approaches, including optical illusions and stop-motion pieces, while retaining a strong focus on movement, repetition and the train as a medium.

For Ruyzdael Publishing, Tripl created Repainting Subway Art, a ten-year project in which he recreated and reinterpreted the train graffiti from Martha Cooper and Henry Chalfant’s Subway Art. The publication documents both the finished works and the process behind this extended dialogue with the original book.
