This policy explains what personal information Ruyzdael Publishing collects when you visit ruyzdael-publishing.com or place an order, why we collect it, and who we share it with.

Who we are

What we collect

When you place an order: your name, email address, billing and delivery address, phone number if you give it, and the details of your order. Payment details are handled by the payment provider you choose at checkout; we do not see or store your full card details.

When you sign up for our newsletter: your email address.

When you use the contact form: your name, email address and message.

When you browse the site: technical information such as your browser, device, IP address and the pages you visit, collected through cookies. Cookies that are not needed to run the shop are only used if you accept them in the cookie banner.

Why we use it

To process and deliver your order, send order and shipping updates, handle returns and answer your questions. To send the newsletter, if you signed up for it; every newsletter has an unsubscribe link. To keep our accounts and meet our legal obligations. And, only with your consent, to see how the site is used and to measure the effect of our posts and adverts.

Who we share it with

Shopify, which runs our online shop and checkout. Nomorewords in Amsterdam, which packs and ships our orders on our behalf. The carriers that deliver your parcel, such as PostNL and UPS. The payment provider you choose at checkout. With your consent, Google (Google Analytics) and Meta (Facebook and Instagram), for statistics and advertising measurement. Our accountant, for our bookkeeping. We do not sell your personal information.

Some of these services may process data outside the European Economic Area. Where that happens, they use safeguards recognised under European law.

Cookies

You choose which cookies you accept when you first visit the site. You can change your choice at any time through Cookie preferences at the bottom of every page.

How long we keep it

Order and invoice details are kept for seven years, as Dutch tax law requires. Newsletter details are kept until you unsubscribe. Contact messages are kept for as long as needed to deal with your question.

Your rights

You have the right to see the personal information we hold about you, to have it corrected or deleted, to object to its use and to receive a copy of it. Email info@ruyzdael-publishing.com and we will reply within one month. If you are not satisfied with how we handle your data, you can complain to the Dutch Data Protection Authority (Autoriteit Persoonsgegevens).

Changes

We may update this policy when our practices change. The latest version is always on this page.
