Terms of service

These terms apply to every order placed through ruyzdael-publishing.com. Our returns policy, shipping policy and privacy policy form part of them.

Books and availability

We describe every title as accurately as we can. Editions are limited and a book can sell out without notice. If we cannot supply something you have ordered, we will tell you and refund it in full.

Prices and VAT

Prices shown to private customers include VAT. Prices shown to signed-in trade customers are net, excluding VAT. The VAT rate that applies depends on the delivery address; the rate charged is shown at checkout and on your invoice.

Orders and payment

An order is confirmed once you receive our order confirmation by email. Private customers pay at checkout, using one of the payment methods offered there. Trade customers with an account pay on invoice, by bank transfer, within 15 days of the invoice date.

Your invoice

A VAT invoice is generated when you place your order. You will find it on your order page, under Order details, on the line marked VAT. Your order confirmation email links to that page.

Pre-orders

Some titles can be ordered before publication. Where that is the case it is stated on the product page, together with the expected publication date.

A pre-order is paid before it ships. Private customers pay when they place it; trade customers receive an invoice when they place it, payable within 15 days. The book is sent out around the publication date, and you receive a shipping confirmation with a tracking number when it goes out. Anything you order at the same time travels with it, so order separately if you need other titles sooner.

Publication dates can move. If the date shifts we will tell you by email. Private customers may cancel a pre-order at any time before delivery and receive a full refund. Trade pre-orders are firm once placed, unless we have agreed otherwise with you.

Shipping and delivery

Shipping costs are calculated at checkout and depend on the weight of the order and its destination. Delivery times are estimates; delays caused by carriers or customs are outside our control. See our shipping policy for details.

Returns

Private customers have a statutory 14-day right of cancellation. Books supplied to trade customers are sold firm, with no right of return. Our returns policy sets out how this works.

Trade customers

Shops apply for a trade account through the form on our Trade & Press page. Trade prices, minimum quantities, payment terms and shipping conditions are shown on that page once you are signed in, and apply to every trade order. Trade customers may resell our books through their own shop and webshop; sale through marketplaces such as Amazon or Bol.com requires our prior written approval.

Intellectual property

All content on this website, including images, text and design, belongs to Ruyzdael Publishing or is used with the permission of the copyright holders. Nothing may be reproduced without written permission.

Applicable law

Dutch law applies to these terms. If you are a consumer resident elsewhere in the EU, this does not deprive you of the protection of the mandatory consumer rules of your own country.
