How can we break out of repetitive patterns? With MONOMANIA, designer and artist Ferry van Zijderveld of UNDOG looks for answers in an extensive project that digs into the practice and (dis)comfort of repetitive art. Van Zijderveld made one thousand spray-painted crosses as manifestations of reclaiming the lost space in repetitive restrictions. In doing so, he brings together his background in design, branding and street culture by rediscovering and reinterpreting the surface and seeing what’s left of it.
The book shows each individual cross painted, photographed and printed on high-quality paper, with an introduction by Dumar NovYork (Brooklyn, New York).
