About
UNDOG is the Amsterdam design studio of Ferry van Zijderveld, founded in 2009 after his years as a partner at Hotel. The studio works across graphic design, art direction, identities, books, campaigns, packaging and film titles, mainly within the cultural field. Its approach is concept-driven and often starts by questioning the brief before deciding on form.
UNDOG is also the design practice behind Ruyzdael Publishing. It has shaped the visual identity and design of the publishing programme, including books, records and related projects. Within Ruyzdael, design is not treated as a separate layer added at the end, but as part of how research, images and text are organised and understood.
For Ruyzdael Publishing, UNDOG made MONOMANIA: one thousand spray-painted crosses, each painted, photographed and printed in a 992-page book.
